Wedding rings are a very significant aspect in most matrimonial ceremonies. These days, there is a wide variety of options available in many different styles. Along with the traditional plain gold band, platinum rings and the most contemporary titanium rings are also available. With the passage of time the titaniums have become very popular and are today’s biggest trend.

The price of the titanium rings plays a big role in the rise of its popularity. They are available at a much lower price than the diamond and platinum ones, yet they are equally beautiful. There can be a price difference of hundreds of dollars between a platinum or diamond ring and a titanium one. Therefore couples with a limited budget can always go for the titanium instead of buying the poorer quality gold or diamond ones.

The titanium wedding rings are longer lasting compared to the traditional gold rings. They don’t usually get scratched easily and are more durable. So it won’t easily lose its charm even if a person wears it 24/7. Titanium is an alloy that can take a beating. They are heat, cold and extreme pressure resistant. It is almost a half lighter than steel but it is quite stronger. These characteristics make them suitable for every couple. The interesting thing is more and more men are choosing to wear titanium rings nowadays, especially the black ones due to its their appeal of masculinity that shows the individual style of its wearer. Men who don't want a standard ring now have a good alternative, a very good one indeed.

Owing to the smoothness of the titanium metal, the rings don’t cause much skin irritation and they are pretty comfortable to wear. People who are allergic to gold, had only one option in diamond rings before but now, with the advent of titanium rings, they have a very good option. Now they can chose them, which are definitely less costly than the platinum ones.

If you are searching for your and your fiance's wedding rings, please do yourselves a favor and check out the titaniums. They are as exquisite as any gold or platinum rings.

The Benefits of Titanium Rings

Titanium is an elemental metal with a wide variety of uses. Since its accidental discovery in 1791, titanium has been used to make aircraft, sporting goods such as golf clubs, automobile parts, watches, and rings. While titanium rings may not be as widespread as gold or platinum rings, they have many advantages. Titanium rings are durable, lightweight, strong, 100% hypoallergenic, and affordable. Titanium is stronger than steel and keeps its shape better than most metals used to make rings. It is also lighter and more comfortable to wear than gold or platinum.
Titanium is biocompatible with all human skin and will not cause any irritations like rashes or discolorations. Another advantage of titanium is that it does not rust, corrode, or lose its color. Since titanium is not a precious metal like gold, silver, or platinum, the cost of a titanium ring is lower than rings made of those materials. The price of a titanium ring can start at around $70 for a basic design. There are different grades of titanium, from aircraft grade, which is the strongest and most durable, to pure commercial titanium, which is less strong. Since jewelry is meant to be long lasting, most manufacturers use higher grades of titanium for their products. Most titanium rings can be engraved and many are available in different colors.
There are many types of titanium rings available for several different uses and occasions. Titanium wedding rings can be a unique alternative to more traditional gold wedding rings. Instead of a standard engagement ring, adventurous shoppers can choose one made of titanium.
Many men buy titanium rings because they can look more masculine than most jewelry and come in colors like black. Since titanium is so durable and strong, titanium rings can be customized in many different ways. Titanium promise rings are also available, giving buyers more options.
Titanium rings with inlays of other metals like gold, platinum or silver can be found for a good price. More men than women wear titanium wedding rings, but there are several models that are fitting for a bride. A wide variety of titanium wedding rings are available, encompassing nearly every style imaginable. Two of the most popular styles are plain titanium wedding rings and titanium rings with an inlay of another metal.
Titanium rings do not dull, rust, or corrode over time. The rings are available in many different shapes. The two most popular shapes are flat and domed bands. Flat bands are thin while domed bands have more depth. Aside from the different shapes available, buyers can purchase rings with many different unique designs cut into the ring or can have inscriptions engraved in the interior or exterior of the ring to make them more personal. The prices for these titanium wedding rings varies greatly, depending on the design and the grade of titanium used. Some cost as little as $60 while others go for well over $300.
For buyers who want something more elaborate, titanium wedding rings with inlays of other metals are also available. These rings usually consist of a titanium band with a smaller amount of platinum, yellow gold, white gold, or silver added to provide decoration. Since these rings contain a quantity of a precious metal, they are usually more expensive than wedding rings made purely out of titanium.

Titanium Wedding Ring- for the Future and Forever

You can say "forever" with just one ring - if you will make it a titanium wedding ring. "Forever" doesn't come with gold and a diamond, certainly - gold doesn't convey enough of the permanence the word was made to represent. Even if you leave the diamond for some other piece of jewelry - like a necklace, an earring or even a brooch, a single titanium wedding ring would speak of a lifetime commitment all on its own.
The chemical element Titanium (Ti) was named after the Titans, ancient mythological creatures who were more powerful than the Graeco-Roman gods. In fact, the Titans were supposed to have fathered some of the gods, who proceeded to grow in number. Think of titanium, then, as the father of all metals, which may be more popular than titanium... but at the same time inferior in integrity and strength.
The metal titanium is corrosion-resistant, even against salt water and chlorine, which wear away most other metals. Titanium also has a high melting point, which means it can withstand high temperatures and drastic weather changes without becoming tarnished or misshapen. For this reason, titanium is not generated by ordinary casting methods, but by powder metallurgy. It is also often used as a refractory metal. The supremely resistant properties of the element would make a titanium wedding ring basically indestructible.
In fact titanium is used for a variety of beauty and health care products. Some of the best eyewear in the world, for example, are made of titanium. These can be very expensive, but buyers will agree: the lifetime guarantee that comes with owning a titanium eyepiece is well worth every penny.
Zirconium is very similar in composition to titanium, hence zirconium-titanium combinations are used for many pieces of jewelry. A zirconium gemstone would make an attractive set for a titanium wedding ring, as its look is very similar to that of the diamond. In fact, the oxide of zirconium is processed to create the cubic zirconia, which creates the diamond.
Moreover, the titanium metal used for jewelry is hypoallergenic. Platinum and white gold are two other favorite choices for metals for the same reason. But if you're shopping around for the best metals for a special gift, you just can't go wrong with the strongest and most durable.
Many have said that titanium shapes the future of art. In fact a 150-foot (45 m) statue of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, was made in Moscow, entirely of titanium! The ones who made the statue, as well as the ones who have gazed up at it, have no doubt that it will last forever. Your titanium wedding ring will certainly survive as long, and look no further if you want to prove that your love was made to last for all time

Platinum Wedding Rings - The Secret Alternatives

The price of platinum has risen hugely recently. A man’s Platinum ring will now cost between £500 and a £1000. Platinum is now too expensive for some people so what is the alternative?
A lot of men want a ‘white’ colored wedding ring so would think that the only alternative is white gold. There is however a problem with white gold that a lot of shops might not tell you; white gold is actually champagne coloured and then it is plated with a hard white metal called Rhodium to make it seem white. The problem is that this plating is easily damaged and eventually wears off. You then end up with a very tatty looking, champagne coloured ring.
So why do shops still sell such a poor product? Firstly, when you buy the ring in the shop it looks fantastic and so customers are easily taken in. Secondly they haven’t any alternative to offer. Thirdly, you don’t often buy wedding rings so most people have little experience in this area. Fortunately times have moved on and there are now other alternatives.
Let's get back to basics. Men want a wedding ring that is comfortable, stylish and strong. In particular they want a 'fit and forget' product. They don’t want to have to take their ring off when doing, DIY, sport and gardening. If you take a ring off a lot you will eventually loose it. So what are the alternatives?
Raw white gold
It is possible to buy white gold without any plating on it from the start. The gold alloy has been specially designed from the start to be as white as possible (extra Palladium). No matter how much you scratch the ring it will always stay the same colour. It is not as strong however as Steel or Titanium. Cost £300-£500.
Titanium
Titanium is a new comer to the wedding ring scene but is the fastest growing choice. It is immensely strong, hypoallergenic, wont rust or tarnish and has no coating. It has a slight grey appearance which a lot of men find appealing.
Just the word ‘Titanium’ conjures up ideas of strength and exotic space age technology. Price £30-£50. If you want something really special you can have your Titanium wedding band inlaid with other precious metal like gold, platinum or silver. Price £35 -£500.
Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is a pure white metal, that is immensely strong, hypo allergenic, scratch resistant and wont rust or tarnish. Compared to a Platinum ring it is indistinguishable in colour and much stronger. Both will have a beautiful bright white finish. It's definitely my first choice. Price £20-£40.
High Street shops want to keep selling you rhodium plated white gold wedding rings because they have no alternative to offer. There are alternatives that needn’t cost the earth. In my experience, couples happily take the saving on the man’s wedding ring and reallocate it to other areas of their wedding budget.
